Pre-Conference Activities - Wednesday, April 12, 2023
Girls Experience Mining Volunteer Event: 8 AM - 3 PM


Volunteer at the “Girls Experience Mining” Day run by CAT for local 7th and 8th grade students at the local schools experience mine machinery & equipment, simulators, and other mining activities. A “job fair” will be held at lunch where each company or volunteer representative can explain what their company does and what jobs they are looking for to inspire the youth.
Who: Open to all conference attendees who would like to volunteer!
Where: Outside at CAT's Tinaja Hills – 45 minutes south of the Tucson Convention Center. Shuttle bus will leave the TCC at 7 AM and return at 4pm. You can volunteer for a smaller portion of the day, but you must provide your own transportation. Lunches will be provided to volunteers.

Advisory Council Meeting: 4 - 6 PM
Collaboration time with WIM Corporate member company leads and the WIM chapter leadership.
Who: By Invitation Only.
Where: Hexagon's Downtown Tucson Office, 5-minute walk from TCC.
Virtual and In person component will be available to ACC members, be on the lookout for a separate meeting invitation with instructions on how to join the meeting.

Welcome Mixer: 6 - 9 PM

Welcome to speakers, sponsors, and students attending the WIM Annual Conference. hors d’ oeuvres and beverages.
Who: Open to all conference attendees!
Where: Hexagon's Downtown Tucson Office, 5-minute walk from TCC.
Cost: No additional cost.
Conference Day 1 Activities - Thursday, April 13, 2023
The Main Event! 9 AM - 5 PM
Join an exciting day of panels, speakers, and a workshop focused on how to improve Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in the mining industry. There will be plenty of time to NETWORK as well with our interactive round table discussions following each segment of the day.
Who: Open to all conference attendees!
Where: Tucson Convention Center “The Meeting Rooms”.
Cost: Included in registration fee.

Dinner & Networking 6 - 9 PM


Includes a catered dinner buffet and live entertainment at the beautiful, historic Pima County Courthouse Courtyard. The evening entertainment will include tours led by museum staff and docents of the Alfie Norville Gem & Mineral Museum. Awards ceremony will be held during the event.

Where: Pima Historical Courthouse and Alfie Norville Gem & Mineral Museum
Cost: Included in registration fee.
Conference Day 2 Activities - Friday, April 14, 2023
Tours have PPE requirements - be on the lookout for your specific tour to know what to bring. All tours will have closed toe shoes and long pants as a minimum requirement, some tours need hardhat, safety glasses and high viz vest (some loaner PPE is available for those traveling).

Personal and Professional Development Workshop
As an alternative to the tours, two workshops are being offered in Tucson on Friday. Option 1 is a 3 hour personal development workshop hosted by xxx. Option 2 is the BRIMM 101 class, modified for our conference that will provide you with that initial certification. This class will be 6 hours in length on Friday with additional class work to be done virtually after the event. Breakfast and lunch are provided for both workshops.
Cost: Included in registration fee.
Free Evening to Enjoy Local Dining
There are numerous great local eateries for you to have an enjoyable dinner in the southwest.
Cost: Each person is responsible for paying their own meal and transportation to and from the restaurants.
